As part of my commitment to community involvement and social responsibility, I lead a poverty survey conducted across various regions in Zhejiang Province, China. This endeavor aimed to assess and understand the socioeconomic challenges faced by marginalized communities within the province. Through this initiative, I sought to contribute to the identification of key areas requiring intervention and facilitate the development of targeted solutions to alleviate poverty and promote sustainable development. This engagement not only allowed me to gain practical experience in conducting field surveys but also fostered a deep appreciation for the complexities of poverty and the importance of community-driven efforts in addressing social inequities.

During my role as a Teaching Assistant for the Animal Biostatistics course (2020-2021 Spring; 2021-2022 Spring), I provided support to both students in facilitating a comprehensive understanding of statistical concepts and their applications in veterinary background.

During my tenure as a veterinary assistant at Zhejiang University Affiliated Animal Hospital, I gained extensive hands-on experience and played a vital role in supporting the healthcare team in providing comprehensive veterinary care to a diverse range of animal patients. My responsibilities encompassed various facets of veterinary assistance, including animal reception, disease counseling, patient care, drug preparation, ultrasonography assistance, doctor support, and clinical laboratory testing.

As a Certified Aider of the Red Cross Society in Zhejiang Province, I participated in providing crucial support during times of emergencies and crises. This role required me to demonstrate a strong commitment to humanitarian efforts and adhere to established protocols for effective aid delivery. Through my experience as a Certified Aider, I gained practical knowledge in disaster response, emergency preparedness, and assisting individuals and communities in need.
Internship, Hangzhou Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 2021
In the Hangzhou CDC, we learned state-of-art techniques, especially genomics and bioinformatics in the diagnosis and tracing of infectious diseases. We practiced genomic surveillance of a recent salmonella exploration in Hangzhou, China. This process involves sequencing the pathogen’s genetic material, preprocessing the data, assembling the genome, identifying variants and mutations, conducting phylogenetic analysis, and facilitating global data sharing. By integrating genomic data with metadata such as patient information, travel history, and disease outcomes, we finished the tracing of transmission chains and the identification of potential sources of Salmonella infection.

I passed Chinese Veterinary Licensing Examination in July 2023 and about to get my certificate to practice clinical veterinary medicine in China.
Performed the detection, segmentation, and classification of glomerulus with varying degeneration degrees based on Convolutional Neural Networks; Utilized the PyTorch framework to create a pathological grading system for IgA nephrosis.
